As I go to bed
I was thinking tonight as I was driving home from youth group. Tonight there will be two nurses working all night to take care of Tricia and baby Rose. My prayer is that God would give these nurses a great night taking care of our two miracle girls. I also pray that God will reveal himself to them in a powerful way as they take care of the Lawrenson girls.

As a nurse (not to mention a night shift girl), I super appreciate your prayers for the nurses caring for Tricia and Gwyneth. I, too, have been praying for the nursing staff involved in their care.

Just another former ICU night nurse saying thank you for praying for the nurses! I have been praying specifically, as well, for those nurses caring for Nate's "girls" during the night hours...praying that God will use them as vessels for His peace to flow to Tricia and Gwyneth. My greatest satisfaction working nights came not from using all of the technology available for the benefit of my patients, but rather from somehow bringing a sense of calm in the midst of the chaos, to allow their weary bodies, minds, and spirits a chance to relax to whatever degree that was possible, and get some snatches of restorative sleep. I pray not only for those nurses to be "blown away" by what God is doing in that hospital; to be alert and attentive to every little detail during the night; but also for them to devote themselves to being palpable instruments of God's love to their patients in the wee hours of the morning when there may not be family right at the bedside all the time. And I pray a peaceful night's sleep for all of your weary family tonight! It seems you are all reading everyone else's blogs and comments (Duh! So is the whole world :) !)...so all you Lawrensons, wherever you are, know that an old nurse in Michigan, who still sometimes gets her days and nights mixed up, is "praying you through" at all hours! Praising God for all He is doing and all the progress being made!
I am a NICU nurse from another large NC hospital...nursing can be a thankless job, but families like yours make it all worthwhile. Warm wishes and prayers to your whole family, especially Tricia and Gwyneth!
Nurses are wonderful people. It takes special people to do what they do and they do it well. May God continue to give all the nurses strength to take care of God's miracle girls.
