Politics

I'm tired of politics.  I can't wait for the election to be over with so we can move on to whatever and whoever is next.  I think I'm closing in on deciding who I'm gonna vote for.

Wouldn't it be great if we had a normal regular person run for president and the nation got behind him or her?  Imagine having a president that could relate to making a mortgage payment every month on a $40k a year income?  Wait better yet what if we cleaned out the house and senate and put all "normal" people in there.  Then something would probably happen for the good of the nation and not a political party or party agenda.

There, I feel much better now.  I'm going to go wash cars for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation now.

At the very least we need someone who can remember just how many homes they own!

I understand what you're saying but I still don't think I was this country's business and security (against terrorism and my own personal rights) to be someone without much education and experience. I just don't want the average Joe as my President. It's pretty much what we have now.

Well, he was the governor of Texas. That should qualify as experience. And his dad was president, which doesn't exactly make him an average joe.

Now it seems we have a choice between a flash in the pan and a war hero past his prime.

Too bad Pat Paulsen died.

Well, Rick, it doesn't seem that jet lag has affected your sense of humor much! I think I could vote for Pat this year, too :) Is there such a thing as electing a President posthumously? (hmmm,,did I spell that correctly?). The total readership of your family blogs could spearhead quite a campaign blitz!

I just wish Chuck Norris would run for president.

If I had money and were investing it in real estate I might not know how many homes I own either. If my wife was from a wealthy family with investments of her own I probably wouldn't know either. I think the whole home issue is blown out of proportion.

I knew if I did post on either politics or food I would get some comments. :)

The thing that bugs me the most is the MASSIVE amounts of money these people spend on their campaigns. It's such a waste. Just imagine what good could be done if that money went to charities or research....to help people. The whole election process really needs to be changed entirely. Erf!

Amen to the election process change!!! (and Chuck Norris)

Andy,
I totally agree with you! I'd like to see some guy/gal stand up and say "hey I know what it's like to juggle groceries, gas, child care, worry about the state of the public school system (because I can't afford private schools), and hate that both spouses have to work just to get by...
Ahhh....a girl can dream, can't she????

Yep. Sick of it. All of it. Sick of the ads, the signs, their faces on the tube when I try to watch the news. Let's get it over with and deal with the result. It's gonna be one of them whether any of us like it or not. Praise Jesus we have somewhat of a checks and balances system in our country.
