Idol

David Archuletta – Nailed it.  His voice is naturally pure.  I agree with Randy whatever he sings is going to be good because he can sing anything.

Carly – It was OK but not great.  Sort of screamy.

Syesha – Great voice.  She did a good job with that song.  Best female vocal of the night.

Brooke – Nice personal touch on the song, but it was just OK.

Kristy – it was alright.  Seemed a bit beauty pageant like to me.

David Cook – Great job rockin it.  Never heard the song before so I couldn’t compare to how Mariah did it.  David’s version was kickin.  Good thing he took a risk.

Jason –Could the dude sound any cooler.  Of course if there are congas in the song how could he go wrong?  Very relaxing sound.

My order from worst to best tonight:

6.  Kristy – could be going home

5. Carly – If Kristy isn’t going home then Carly is going

4. Brooke

3. Jason

3. Syesha

2. David A.

1. David C.

They had to do songs of Mariah Carey.  Tough for the girls to pull of since they would be compared to Mariah, the guys had a better chance.  Not easy to do the songs of a super star like that but in my opinion (and I used to play drums with Mariah) I would say they did a good job.

"You played drums with Mariah?"

Yes, I would pop the tape in the Walkman and play right along with Mariah. ;)

Bet you had Lee going there, for a minute, thinkin' you had finally spilled about the Nashville connection! :) I think I am the only person in America who doesn't watch "Idol", so the rest doesn't mean much to me. Sure has been some great talent come out of that show over the years, though! That I DO know!

Yep, Marcia, he sure did. C'mon, ANdy! SPill it! Were you a drummer for various artists in Nashville? And do you play drums at your church?

David Cook ALL THE WAY. No matter what jenre they throw at him, he makes it unique to his own personal style. Whether he arranges his own songs or not isn't the point...he clearly has a "style" and he can make just about any song his own.
Archuletta definately has awesome vocals but he is somewhat forgettable. Castro and Cook seem to be the only ones with a recognizable vocal and style. My whole family adores Castro. Just looking at him makes us smile. My 14 year old even laughs out loud at his expressions.
Brooke White looks like she might have a nervous breakdown at any moment. Her voice is recognizable but she is predictable. Carly WAS a bit "screamy" last night. Glad to hear she is taking Simon's suggestions about her clothing. She looked fantastic! Kristy Lee is under the impression that she is much better than she actually is. She is a smart cookie though. We get the impression that she really doesn't give a hoot about Idol anymore...she is setting herself up for a great country music career. In every song choice, her clothing, her arrangements, (did you hear the steel guitar last night in her song?) Vocally I really don't think she has that much to offer but in terms of a country career, she is a good package.
Lee's Top 4 picks:

David Cook (he's just good, dawg)

David Archuletta (he's consistent, likeable and has the teenage vote)

Jason Castro (even my MIL is infatuated with his amazing eyes and smile...his placement will have to do more with his personality, looks and charm than his talent)

The last one is tough for me but I am going to say
Brooke White (if she can keep from colapsing on stage from wither nerves or lack of sustenance, she may do ok)

I have nothing to say about Seyesha. Haven't liked her from the get go.

I called it!

Syesha is great and will have a record deal as soon as the show is over.

Kristy may get some sort of country music deal but I would be surprised.

You nailed it....sort of. You said Kristy oculd be going home and if not Carly would. Carly was not even in the bottom three but your girl Syesha was. So, I'll give you points for Kristy but hafta take away points for the Carly/Syesha thing.
1. David Cook
2. David Archuletta
3. Jason Castro
4. Brooke White
That's my picka nd I'm sticking to it.

NOW, WHAT WAS YOUR NASHVILLE STORY???
I've googled your name about 1,000 ways and I think you may have been in a band in England and also you may, just may, play violin.

I had Brooke and Carly mixed up.

And the Nashville affiliation mystery lives on. :)

You are just one hard nut to crack there, Andy!:) Lake Michigan has been pretty rough the past couple of days. I suspect it has something to do with rumblings in the earth under the Chicago area, from Lee jumping around in a crazed state over this Nashville thing....and we are getting the waves on the other side of the Lake!

MARCIA! There was an Earthquake early this morning! The epicenter was in southern Illinois near the Indiana/Kentucky borders but there was a road damaged here in Chicago and many people in the suburbs felt it! (It was 5.4 on the richter scale)
Any rumblings you felt were only PARTLY me!
Hmmm, wonder wave patterns in the lake are an indicator of things happening before an earthquake.

Yeah, well, Lee, think what you will...must have been "pre-shocks" alright! :) ...or strong winds from the southwest :) People around here felt it, too. Go figure...earthquakes in the Midwest.
Must be one of those Idol contestants is really shaking up the world! (Had to tie this into the subject of this post, somehow!)
